Thai Boxing
Muay Thai/Thai Boxing is the national sport of Thailand. Thai Boxing uses stand-up striking along with various clinching (Muay Thai Plum) techniques. Thai Boxing is known for its physical, and mental conditioning as well as its respect and discipline Thai Boxing is referred to as “the art of eight limbs" as it combines the use of punches, elbows, knees and kicks.
Like most competitive fighting sports, Muay Thai is heavily focused on body conditioning. Muay Thai is specifically designed to promote a level of fitness required for ring competition. Class includes skill training with Thai Pads, focus mitts and heavy bags. Included is aspects of combat sports conditioning such as shadow boxing, rope jumping, body weight exercises, medicine ball exercises and abdominal exercises. This class is not for fighters and is open to all levels. You do not have to be a fighter to be in fighting shape. Muay Thai is also a great source of skills for self defense.
